India's Service Sector is booming (60% of GDP, up from less than 40% in 1970) but faces an acute skilled manpower shortage, despite the presence of a large graduate pool (15mn+). A part of the malady is perhaps in our university education system which offers degrees but often fails to make graduates "employable".

Elements Akademia aims to bridge that gap by training students on what we call the 9 employability skills. Months of research with top companies like Kotak Bank, Reliance Retail, Aditya Birla Group, Genpact, WNS, Bank of America, etc. helped us understand why exactly were prospects not getting selected during the interviews. We then worked with these companies to design each module - which together became India's first comprehensive "employability training" course.

We offer this course through three channels:

1. Partnering with graduates and post graudate colleges (esp. MBAs) to embed our 240 hour curriculum. Our trainers go to campuses and teach, and we offer a specific quality, improvement and placement commitment.
2. Our own retail centres - in 6 Tier II cities (targetted 20 by 2010). Students can walkin, register and, if selected, study at our centre for 6 months leading to placement.
3. Tieups with governments and MFIs where we typically teach bottom-of-pyramid candidates (X/XII pass) and help them get a Rs. 3-5,000 per month job in our corporate partners and beyond.

The vision is to annually make 10,000+ Indians employable - reaching out to non-metro cities to attract students, train them (on a curriculum designed with our corporate partners, some of the world's best companies in their respective sectors), and then help them get placed in our partners and beyond.
